Well everyone the results are in. I do not have a tumor so that is the good news. I have whats called empty sella syndrome. It's a spot in the bottom of your brain that holds your pituitary gland (this gland is in charge of almost all of your hormone regulation) Well this hole looks like it is empty on the MRI (hence the "empty" part of the syndrome) and my gland is flattened somehow. Right around that is a bony area called the sella turcica and mine is swollen. But that's as much as I know. The doctor didn't know much about it except that it isn't life threatening. I will have to see an endocrinologist for further information and testing. Overall I am not sure what it all means or what is to come but at least it has a name and I'm still dizzy. So I know that I move on from here.
Also there is a huge possibility that this time next year that I could be living in Bahrain or south of San Francisco. For the hubbies duty station. More to come on that front.
So glad it's not life threatening! I'm sure this'll help you get your hormones under control for a healthy pregnancy as well. :) Did they say if it's genetic?
ReplyDeleteThe doctor was reading her info off of google as she was telling me about it lol so I have no idea
ReplyDeleteWow that is crazy but semi-good. I hope that the fix is easy and works well.
ReplyDeleteI vote San Francisco as I come down once or twice and year and we can hang out :) Bahrain sounds exotic though :)

ReplyDeleteI'm praying for ya darlin'!
ReplyDeleteI hope it turns out to be easily treatable. I'm sure you feel relieved that at least you have a diagnosis. I'm sure a specialist will get you on your way to feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are able to learn more about it but at least you have a sort of answer!
